  • J. Kaye's Book Blog has started a new reading challenge: 2009/2010 Lynn Viehl's Darkyn Series Reading Challenge. As a rule, I usually don't do reading challenges but I'm thinking pretty hard about doing this one, since I have all the books in this series but have yet to read them.
  • The Misadventures of Super Librarian has a very interesting post: An Open Letter To Romance Bloglandia talking about the atmosphere of the blogging world right now, definitely food for thought here. I found this blog via Monkey Bear Reviews.

Giveaways Around the Virtual World: As always, I hope you find a new a book or an author that you've not heard of before listed here. Good Luck! The ongoing contest list is on my blog's sidebar.

Fun post as always, some nice contest and I had to go and read what superlibrarian said, and comment.
Why can't all just be nice and play along :( I honestly start to think that I will be so sad when I get my first angry comment...which I of course then reject cos I will be too sad

Blodeuedd - Thanks! Yes, I dread that day when the anger commenter/emailer shows up. This is all for fun for the most part, why are some people getting so serious about things? I don't like something in the online world, I stay away from it.

Wow. So. Much. Going. On.

Wendy's post was interesting - and reminded me of the similarities between all blogging communities. :)

Hey Donna:

Awesome informative post. I've read Lynn Viehl's Darkyn Series and loved it. It is paranormal romance but there is a horror/UF tinge to it. One of my favorite H/H are Dr. Alexandra Keller and Michael Ciprean who are the primary characters in the first book, "When Angels Burn". They are then recurring secondary characters throughout the series which I really liked.

Best to you..

Donna,
Exactly! I mean I know if someone says oh you hated the book, well i loved it. Then that person doesn't pick on me cos we are all different. But if he or she lashes out cos I disliked a book, or cos of something else I am doing...well that day that sorrow

Chris - I really don't have a lot of experience with blogging communities, just what I know from blogging this year. I have really surprised by what I have seen, a lot of it seems really petty.

Lea - Thanks for the 411 on the Darkyn series, I've been wanting to read them for awhile. But I have a real hard sticking to a plan, so I'm not sure if I can do a challenge. They will be read either way.

Blodeuedd - Yep, I agree totally! We don't all like the same things. "Live and let live" - is my motto, it can be applied to so many aspects in life.

Jessica - Thanks and You're welcome!!

You haven't read the Darkyn series yet!! There ARE some books that I've read that you haven't yet. That's like super amazing lol

But seriously, you must read them =) I'm thinking about re-reading them when I get the time.

And this is the first I've seen of that L.J. Smith book. I'll have to check that out.

Awesome collab post Donna. I enjoy these immensely <33

Hey Mishel - LOL! I bet there a ton of books you've read that I haven't. ;) I do plan on reading the Darkyn series soon, lots of folks have given this much praise - such as yourself. Thanks!!

Great post! I love to see all the contests!

K.C. - Apparently some bloggers have been getting disgruntle emails about their blog posts and opinions on books. Check the link out and read the post by Wendy, she wrote it up much better than I could explain. ;)
