Shifter series by Rachel Vincent sound great from what I have reading in the reviews and book excerpts. I'm putting them on my TBR list but if I'm lucky enough I could win the series from Rachel Vincent's Blog Tour Contest. I wish... I hope... please... oh, what a wonderful dream.
Blog Tour Contest Details:
Win signed copies of her Shifter novels: Stray, Rogue and Pride or a $25.00 online gift certificate from B&N and a 6.3 oz. bag of Godiva chocolate hearts. Click here for details on how to enter.
The latest book in the Shifter Series to be released is Pride on February 1st.
Pride is available for pre-order at Barnes and Noble, Borders, Books-A-Million, and Amazon.
Here is an excerpt from Pride:
Here's hoping cats do have nine lives
I’m on trial for my life. Accused of infecting my human ex-boyfriend—and killing him to cover up the crime. I’m not guilty. But tell that to the panel of Alphas sitting in judgment. Infecting a human is one of three capital offenses recognized by the Pride—along with murder and disclosure of our existence to a human.
I’m two for three. A goner.
On top of that, Marc is in danger of being tossed from the Pride, then we discovered a rogue stray terrorizing the mountainside, hunting a wild teenage tabbycat. I think I can protect her from both the ambitious rogue and the scheming of the territorial council.
If I survive my own trial…

Well, we went to see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. It was entertaining but I don't think I liked it as much as the 1st and 2nd Underworld movies. Michael Sheen did a great job as Lucian and so did Rhona Mitra. Bill Nighy did any excellent job with his part as he had in previous movies, he makes a great tyrannic and ruthless vampire. But even with good actors, I kept feeling like something was missing.
I think it might be that Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedmen make the Underworld movies for me. They have the right chemistry together that made the previous Underworld movies pop! It might also be 'cause I knew how the movie was going to end - Sonya would die in the sun and Lucian would be left alone to live centuries with a broken heart. I'm a sucker for the HEA ending.
If I was going to rate the movie on Yahoo!, I would give it B-. But don't get me wrong, I'm glad I went to the theater to watch it. It's the sort of dark movie that is best viewed at the theater, where it is dark and cavernous.

There is a great list of Paranormal Authors on one of the Amazon.com discussion forums called
New Revised Paranormal Authors List - DO NOT KILL THIS THREAD!!! This is a wonderful reference to have handy if you are looking for your next book to read.
The creator of this list is Melanie Nowak aka WoodWitchDame on Amazon.com, the author of the Vampire Adventure/Romance series - Almost Human.
Melanie has done a great job alphabetized and key coded it. The key codes let you find a book that has particular elements you maybe looking for, for example a book with V [vampires] or SH [Shapeshifters]. The list also identifies if a book is DPNR - [Dark Paranormal Romance] or LPNR - [Light Paranormal Romance], etc. These codes are just the tips of the iceberg.
A lot of Melanie's time and much appreciated effort has gone into this list. Another happy mention is the list is ongoing. Anyone can post to the discussion to request an author/book be added to the list. So, this is also PNR group effort here to top it off.
Check it out for yourself: click here.

I have been waiting to see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Now it is finally at theatres. I can't till tomorrow to see it. Family wants to see it but everyone could get together for the movie until Saturday. Oh, well, it just one more day...
I really enjoyed the first film Underworld, it was wonderfully. It kept me enthralled from start to finish. I usually don't watch a movie more than once but this one had me going for seconds. It definitely had the excitement factor.
Underworld: Evolution was very good, I did enjoy it but not as thoroughly as I did the first film. Not sure what was so, different from the first. I guess, I need to go back and watch the first two films again, since it has been awhile. But don't get me wrong, I liked it enough that I'm absolutely excited about seeing the third film on the morrow.

I created a new twitter account, FantasyDreamer. This one will be my personal one, where I can feel free to talk about whatever I want or need to.
I have one already for work but I really need to keep that account on the professional down-lo. Now a days with most companies trying to get into the social media and wanting to get a positive image out there...I just don't want to worry about anything I have to say effecting work. Just trying to be considerate.

OMG! I have been reading the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole, I just finished "Wicked Deeds on a Wicked Night", went to my bookshelf to get the next book "Dark Needs at Night's Edge" to read and couldn't find it. My heart started pounding...my mind started racing. I was thinking "Didn't I get that book?", "I could of swore I got the whole series. Right?" Then I started thinking, "Well, what is the fastest way I can get the next book?"
The realization that tomorrow would be the soonest I could it (from Amazon.com) but to me that wasn't fast enough. I started thinking, "What am I going to read tonight? Oh, no, that won't work." Then I realized, last night I put the darn book on my nightstand because I was almost finished with "Wicked Deeds on a Wicked Night"! Next thought to self, "Now, how much more dense could I get?!?!" I was so relieved, I had to laugh at myself!

Kiss of a Demon King (The Immortals After Dark, Book 6) by Kresley Cole is slated to be released January 20, 2009 but I received my from Amazon.com yesterday.
This is exciting since I have just started this series. So far the book has made anxious to get back to reading it at every chance I can get! Meaning that I will more than likely roar through this series. I love it when a book gets me excited about reading it!

I have started reading the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole:
Reading Order:
PLAYING EASY TO GET (the novella THE WARLORD WANTS FOREVER)
A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER
NO REST FOR THE WICKED
WICKED DEEDS ON A WINTER'S NIGHT
DARK NEEDS AT NIGHT'S EDGE
DARK DESIRES AFTER DUSK
KISS OF A DEMON KING Jan. 20, 2009
NOT THAT INNOCENT (Anthology) Aug. 2009
So far "A Hunger Like No Other" is a great read. It is very fast paced, the characters pull you in with a lot action. The scenes are every changing, which I like, so the story keeps moving. The story involves more than just the heroine and hero for this book, several characters have been introduced so far, setting up the stories for future books.

I finished Dark Gold, it finished well. I guess, I just hit a blah spot, it picked up again with the action.
I started reading Dark Magic but I had a hard time staying with it. Not sure exactly why I am having a hard reading this series. It had so many great reviews. So, I am putting up the Dark Series for now, but not forever. I will return to it later and give it another try.

I started reading the Dark Series this past Sunday. I have already read Dark Prince and Dark Desire. Now I am reading Dark Gold.
Dark Prince was touch and go, places throughout the book it seemed a bit disjointed but I liked it enough to finish it.
I liked the way Dark Desire started but I kind of got a bit frustrated with Shea. Shea behavior just seemed to be contradictory, not sure how to put it. Her character's behavior really didn't give me much confidence in her - too wishy-washy.
Again, I really liked the way Dark Gold started out with a lot thrilling action, something happening almost every page. But then it kinda slowed down. Right now, I am on page 244 and feeling pretty irritated at Alex - feeling like I did about Shea. Hopefully, it will get better.
If I start a book, I will usually finish it, just to see if it will get better. Plus, I HAVE to know how it ends. The book has to be pretty bad for me not to finish it. All in all, I will probably keep reading the Dark Series because now I have to see where the plots lead to.

You would think I would have jumped on the blog band wagon long ago being as I am a web developer. Well, I'm new to blogging so this is my attempt, let's see how this goes.
Today was an usual day at work. I got a lot done, several web sections on a new web site I am developing were completed and out of the way. So, I'm about half way through with this new site.
I found some new books that I think might be interesting to read and shows some promise. To be added to TBR list:
Mona Lisa Awakening (Monere, Children of the Moon: Book 1) by Sunny
I have also been considering reading but still on the fence: The Dragon Series by Allyson James:
Dragon Heat (Dragon series: Book 1)
The Black Dragon (Dragon series: Book 2)
The Dragon Master (Dragon series: Book 3)
