Summary:

Six year-old Zoe York has been taken and her mother has come to Remy for help. She shows him crude, childlike drawings that she claims are Zoe's visions of the future, everything leading up to her abduction, and some beyond. Like the picture of a man with wings who would come and save her-a man who is an angel.

Zoe's preternatural gifts have made her a target for those who wish to exploit her power to their own destructive ends. The search will take Remy to dark places he would rather avoid. But to save an innocent, Remy will ally himself with a variety of lesser evils-and his soul may pay the price...

Oh wow! I just checked out Thomas E. Sniegoski's website! Remy Chandler Series looks REALLY good! I will definitely have to check them out!

I would love a chance to enter. What I love about angels (fallen or otherwise) is that they're part of the bigger picture. They have insight and understanding into things humans can only guess at. Such things include Is there really a God? Is God a man or woman. What is the purpose of life. They have the black and white understanding of morality. No gray areas for them. They get the whole scheme of life. They are able to see the entire puzzle, where we are only able to conquer one piece at a time. It very alluring, and it's something I covet. :)

Seems like a great series! I have to go for fallen angels as they are often dark, mysterious creatures with a sense of danger that is oddly alluring!! Plus they usually portrayed as pretty damn hot! LOL

Mulder is cute! I love dogs!

Now, I must check out his adult books - Sassy

Angels even fallen ones tend to point out that there's more here than just man.

Fallen Angels are more interesting because they've been cast out for some thing they knew was bad. Why they did it is curious.

I'm not sure what it is exactly that fascinates me about angels, fallen or otherwise. I'm not religious b any stretch of the imagination, but angels have always done it for me. Then again, I've always been a mythology and folklore buff, so maybe this is just an extension of that. I think if I really had to analyze it, though, it would be a combination of a couple of things:
1. the contradictions. Angels are depicted as fat baby cherubs of love AND avenging, sword-wielding warriors. That's fascinating.
2. The wings. I love wings, and the idea of a person with a person-shaped body, but with beautiful, powerful huge wings is enthralling to me. I think this is the biggest draw, truth be told, even though it's silly.
3. The mystery. You're not supposed to see them, and you're not supposed to really know what they DO exactly, but you know they have some serious mojo. I like that.

Okay, enough from me.

I am a big fan of Thomas E. Sniegoski's Remy Chandler series and The Menagerie Series.

I love reading about angels and fallen angels because they are paranormal creatures that are closer to god in a sense. Reading about their emotions and actions makes one think about the what ifs.

Fallen angels are appealing because they are rebels. Also, the heroine will want to save the fallen whoever she can, and that's a plot that is lked by a lot of people.

I'm gonna say, Angels coz they're always full of love, kind, and always give us the right choices to make :)

Sounds like a great book.

Angels are appealing because they represent goodness and light and happiness and its nice to read about things like that at times.

Fallen angels are because who doesnt love to read about the bad guy or the one who picked the wrong choice and has to redeem themself.

I havent thought about fallen angels. I'd prefer the angels!

Please count me in for this.

I would love to win this book. Thanks for the great giveaway.

I love Angels. To me they represent love. Angels follow you and watch over you. They help you when you need them and they are always there for you. They don't always keep you from making the wrong decisions but they are there to help guide you should you need them.

Fallen Angels are the devils helpers and they tempt you to do things you should not do. They are always with you and try to get you to make bad decisions and do things you normally would not do.

What do I love about angels? The wings, obviously!

I guess angels are attractive because they represent the best and worst of humans in their regular and fallen forms, respectively.

Do you know if this book is a continuation of the Fallen series?

buddyt said...

The thing about Fallen Angels is that they are usually a mixture of good and bad like most of us are and that makes them more interesting.

It also gives the author much more room to develop their characters and actions.

Good angels can sometimes just sound too sweet !

I've not heard of this series yet, but it sounds really, really good! I love stories with Angles and Fallen Angles in them. The contrast of the two, and how they really aren't that different intrigue me. For instance, in the movie City of Angles, I loved how Fallen Angles weren't evil, simply angles that have left Heaven for a love on earth and choose that path instead.

I also love Carter in Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid series, he's not your average angle.

Mostly the mythology and background stories of fallen angels is what fascinates me the most about them. It's something delicate to read for some reason, as if it's forbidden to speak about them.

I find fallen angels appealing because of the bad boy image - and they idea that they've fallen from grace but may have a chance to redeem themselves.

I just checked out the Remy series from my library. Haven't started them, yet, but I'm sure looking forward to it. : )

Angels are interesting to me because I love to see how each author sets up their world of angels, fallen angels, watchers, etc. Each has a different spin on the hierarchy & how the angels will act: Are they jerks? Are they actually nice but not as helpful as you'd like? What's the catch? Why can't they just snap their fingers and save the day? So fun! : )

Great contest!

What I find appealing about angels and fallen angels is that angels are universal. They are present in most of the universal religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc), and what is even more extraordinary is that they transcended religion! They became symbols and are ever present even in atheist views.

Angels are imagined as being present in our human world (by either being invisible, or the humans not being conscious of them being angels), guiding us, protecting us, inspiring us. Creatures of light, goodness and wisdom. What I find appealing is reading why and how these creatures chose or happened to fall. For what greater purpose or goal did they forsake or sacrifice everything?

The thing I love about fallen angel stories is that there's something so captivating about humans -- their brevity of life, their fragility, their passion -- that angels are willing to fall to help them.

Hi :)
my first thought after reading "angels or fallen angels" was Nalini Singhs new series - that were my first books about angels and I was addicted... it seems they are better than the ordinary human but the stories show that's not for real and I love that!

I agree with some of previous comments. That an angel could have a will besides God's and what they would have to do to get kicked out of heaven is so interesting. I am always curious to find out what could motivate them.

I don't really have a favorite trait of angels, but I have to say my favorite angels from any series of books would be the fallen angels in Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' -truly an excellent series of books, and if you're at all interested in angels and/or the concept of god, check it out.

I think fallen angels are appealing because they are usually presented as the resistance. Those who knew there was something wrong going on and decided not to be a part of it. So, even if they're doing the right thing, they're still the rebels, the anarchy.
They are the bith good guys and the bad guys at the same time :) What's no to love?

Thanks for the giveaway!

IsabeLeeta said...

I love fallen angels, just because of the notion of their fallibility. They are, if anything, the ultimate rebels without a cause. With no home to go, the only one to accept them is the dark side, yet all they wanted was not to find the dark side, but to have choice. What's not to love! Thanks for this giveaway. I hope I get it!

Hmmm what I love about angels and fallen angels is that they are embodiments of both what is perfect and what is imperfect about us. They can illuminate that which we aspire to be and what we fear to become.

This book sounds interesting! I love the pic of the author and dog - my doggy is hanging out with me while I type right now. I think the appeal for angels and fallen angels is that at least I see them as human like but they are so foreign too - different emotions, different priorities, different powers. And usually they are mysterious and sexy too or scary.

Angels are all things good, while fallen angels are the formerly good, who gave into temptation somewhere, which is what people can relate to so well.
