10 Things About Me Meme

I was introduced to a new blogger, Hilda at The Dip-Files through Lea at Closetwriter. Hilda loves my favorite vamps, Larissa Ione and has a soft spot for animals so I know her place is going be one of my many haunts. She also came up with this fun meme. Give it a try and introduce yourselves.

The rules are simple:

  1. Post these questions (with your own answers) on your blog.
  2. Come back and leave a comment with the link back to your post.
  3. Answer the questions as honestly as possible.
  4. Have fun!
  5. If you don’t have a blog, just leave a comment with the answers!

Q: Foremost, what’s your name?
A: Donna. But I've always wished for a different name, a boy's name. I used to wish I had my brothers name, Bobby. That's weird right? Just always thought I had a boring name plus in school there always seemed to be another Donna in class with me.

Q: What is your favourite word and why?
A: Shebyes. It's a made up word we use to say as kids, our own version of a bad word. So instead of saying "Oh Shit!" we would say "Oh Shebyes!"

Q: What is the hardest word for you to pronounce?
A: Millennium. I swear I couldn't pronounce that word if my life depended on it. My lips and tongue refuse to cooperated.

Q: If you had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Creamy peanut butter, strawberry jelly and butter on honey whole wheat with Cheetos, a glass of lemonade and Dr. Pepper chocolate cake for dessert. It's a meal for champions.

Q: If you had to choose one book to read for the rest of your life, which would it be?
A: This is wrong to ask of a book lover. So wrong. But I'll pick The Black Jewels Trilogy (The Omnibus Edition, I'm sneaky like that) by Anne Bishop. I could read about Jaenelle, Daemon and Lucivar everyday and never tire of them.

Q: Hypothetical scene: You’re invited to a huge party where all your favourite authors are going to be at, but you are only allowed to speak to one of them. Who would you choose to talk to and why?
A: Sigh. Another hard question. After running through many authors in my mind, I'd pick Gena Showalter. Gena's work amazes me, plus watching her on Author Talk she looks like a lot fun to talk to. Oh, and she's always smiling.

Q: We know you like blogging, but what else do you enjoy doing?
A: I love hanging out with my son, going and watching him play soccer or Ultimate Frisbee. I enjoy just laying down with a good book and having my dog lay next to me to keep my company. Going the movies with my husband. Love to travel. And I like trying new foods, I'm always up to try something different.

Q: Do you speak any other language? If so, which one? If not, would you like to learn one?
A: I speak a little Korean but I understand a lot more than I speak. I used to be able to read Korean some but I haven't used that skill in a very long time. I wish I was 100% fluent in Korean. Growing up my mom refused to speak Korean with my brother and me, she felt we would get along better here in the US if we didn't speak Korean. She was afraid of us having an accent. Now though she wishes she had taught us. As a kid, I use to try and learn on my own so that's how I know the bits that I do know plus we lived in Korea during my high school years. One of these days, I'll plant my butt and learn it all.

Q: Hypothetical scene N˚2: You’re trapped in a dark room, haven’t eaten for days and are starting to stink. Your only salvation lays within ten feet from you. It’s a huge spider (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets size) with the key to the door hanging from its neck. Do you go get it or do you doom yourself to death?
A: I would go get it, probably just close my eyes and hope for the best. :)

Q: If you could move anywhere in the world and be given tons of money in that specific monetary unit, where would you go and why?
A: Greece. I love the sunshine and Greece looks so beautiful surrounded by the ocean with so many beautiful colors. And life looks peaceful and simple there, I would love having a simple life.

Great answers, and I love the word 'Shebyes'. How do you pronounce that? :)
It's too bad that you didn't learn Korean. It's a beautiful language. I like it more than Mandarin or Japanese heh.

Thanks for playing along!
Cheers

Hi Hilda, It's pronounced how I spelled it. The word "she" plus the word "byes" as in the word goodbyes. Just say it real fast. ;)

Thanks for making up this meme, it fun to play along with.

Well, Hilda I racked my little pea brain and I couldn't think if I ever knew the word "fuck" in Korean. I know a few others but not that one. I'm going to ask my brother, he would remember. ;)

Oh Blodeuedd, I bet you will enjoy The Black Jewels Trilogy, well any book by Anne Bishop, IMHO. :)

Amy, when I read that question, I thought "Man, I don't I can come up with just one." Then a split second after that thought The Black Jewels Trilogy popped into my head. *grins*

Thanks Mandi, we loved saying shebyes as kids, I still say it. My brother just smiles and laughs at me for saying it still, but I think it makes happy when he hears me say it.
