ArmadilloCon 31 Sci-fi Convention - Austin, TX

Austin's favorite sci-fi convention ArmadilloCon 31 will be August 14-16 in Austin, Texas.

The primary focus of ArmadilloCon is literary science fiction, but that's not all we do -- we also pay attention to art, animation, science, media, and gaming. Every year, dozens of professional writers, artists and editors attend the convention. We invite you to attend the convention especially if you are a fan of reading, writing, meeting, sighting, feeding, knighting, and all the other things folks do at a sci-f/fantasy convention.

There are a couple of authors attending this year that will make this convention worth attending for me, Ann Aguirre and Jeanne Stein! Below is a full list of current participants. I've never been to this convention before, I just found out about it a few months ago. I plan on heading down to Austin on Saturday for the signings in the Dealers' Room.

Are any of you planning on attending? Give me a shout!

Oh wow! How cool. I found a SciFi convention that's in Rochester in November. Not nearly that amount of authors are attending. I've not heard of any, but I'd still like to go for one of the days if I can. There is supposed to be some sort of Stemapunk themed tea gathering :). It'd be interesting to see people dressed up!

I have read one author on that list, well, two. Ann Aguirre and Deborah Chester. I read one of Deborah's trilogies years ago. It was very good. I donated it to some troops over in Iraq a few years ago. I thought someone else might enjoy it too. I have a Sharon Shinn book in my TBR!

If you attend, have fun!!

That sounds real interesting, I would love to see something on Steampunk even I haven't read a novel based on it. But I'm working on it. If you do go, I would be real interested in how they present the Steampunk theme.

There are a lot authors I recognized on this list but the only ones that I have read is Ann Aguirre & Jeanne Stein. Of course, I'm dragging my son down there with me. :)

I hope you'll enjoy the con. It is a very literary themed convention, but we have a good Art Show, too.

I'll be in the Art Show all weekend, running the silly thing.
