Summary:

BRACE YOURSELF.

When the Agent X virus first struck, the victims became voracious killers intent on contaminating every last soul. And X spread like mad…

The entire eastern seaboard of the United States has been ravages by the contagion, wiping out all signs of hope, faith, or rational thought. Off this desolate coast is a refitted nuclear sub, a 560-foot steel tomb cutting through dark waters and commandeered by a crew of survivors—including Sal DeLuca, who lost his father during their flight from Agent X. When he leads a team to scavenge for food and supplies on land, he comes across a squad of seemingly welcoming mercenaries. But he’s about to find himself trapped between new terrors on the surface and mutiny below.

Who is Walter Greatshell?

From Walter’s web site: “To answer that question, we must go back a long way…all the way to 1962. To the time of the Beatles and Ed Sullivan and John F. Kennedy. Back to the sleepy little hamlet of Torrance, California, where in the hushed maternity ward of Harbor General Hospital, a new life is about to be born…

Etcetera etcetera - fast forward to the present. Nowadays I live with my wife and son in Providence, Rhode Island. When not writing satirical horror novels a la Xombies, I dabble in freelance illustration (with an eye to creating dark children’s books, comics or graphic novels), humorous nonfiction (a throwback to my early days as a freelance journalist and arts critic), and stage acting (most recently in local productions of Oedipus Rex and Karel Capek’s R.U.R.). Which is to say I’m unemployed. The last real job I had was as a graveyard-shift nuclear-submarine technician, and before that I was the general manager of a Providence landmark: the Avon Cinema. What I do next is anyone’s guess.”

My favourite zombie movie is probably 28 Days Later. I really love the old movies too by George Romero, but 28 Days Later launched a new kind of zombie, one that could move fast, run and could easily descend upon you...

My favorite series of zombie books are those by David Wellington, Monster Island, Monster Nation, and Monster Planet. An original story for a market enamored with zombies. Love it! Thanks for the giveaway. :)

Though it's a vampire/zombie cross-over I remember the novella "I am Legend" being an amazing read. I also thought 28 days later was an extremely well done zombie flick.

Hmm..let's see. Zombies that drag they're limbs while crawling toward you is one thing. Zombies with the stamina of an Olympic sprinter, totally different ball game. 28 Days Later made me fear a potential zombie apocalypse.

Oh, my husband and I so love zombies. We play Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 with friends all the time, and we all watch zombie movies.

I have to agree with a lot of people here: 28 Days Later is my favorite zombie movie. I Am Legend was good, too, but I ascribe more to the thought that they're all vampires (You know, hate light, that kind of thing) than zombies. I did hate the ending, though.

Wow, I just learned that the author lives where I do. I was browsing a bookstore and they had some author signed books by him and I read his info. I always like to hear about people doing well in the world that are from my state!

My most memorable zombie book is P&P and Zombies. Not that it was good, just that it was so bad.

My favorite zombie movies is Zombieland - but the most memorable was Night of the Living Dead. I saw it in 196-something when I was a little kid. A little intense.

I have Xombies: Apacalypse Blues in my TBR pile.

My favourite zombie movie is Shaun of the Dead.
It is funny, moving and then there is Simon Pegg.

My favorite books that feature zombies are Deadtown by Nancy Holzner and Happy Hour of the Damned by Mark Henry, because both make zombies into more than just mindless corpses chasing after brains.

My favorite zombie movie is Shaun of the Dead. It's hilarious. (And so is Hot Fuzz, although there are no zombies...)

I still like the (recent) Dawn of the Dead book. It's got enough humor to keep me from staying too scared, and all the good books always tend to be depressing too! They are also always hand me downs from my husband so I'd love to have a chance to read one first and pass it on to him :)
Thank you for the giveaway!

My favorite Zombie movie is "Return of the Night of the Living Dead". It has some lines that my hubby and I are always tossing out. Our favorite being "You mean they LIED?" when they were trying to kill a zombie by cutting off it's head.

I'm so in love with zombie movies/books!
I enjoyed 28 Days Later and its sequel, they are sad zombie films, Zombieland is the last zombie film I have watched and I really liked it, funny and somehow tragic and critic.
