Guest Author & Possible Prize: Teresa D'Amario

Lone Wolf by Teresa D’Amario

Today, I have the pleasure of being a part of Teresa D’Amario’s blog tour to celebrate the release of her new paranormal romance Lone Wolf, book two in the Maxey Wizards Series. This blog tour is going to be a fun one that needs your participation. Teresa also has a contest going along with this tour. Read on to find out how you can participate and possibly win a prize.

Once the victim of scientific experimentation by the Government Control of Supernatural Activities (GSA), Damon doesn't have a past, and he isn't sure he has a future. He doesn't even know if his ability to change from human to wolf is a virus, or magick. But the instant he lays eyes on the pretty cop from the local police force, he knows he has to learn the secrets of his past before they destroy her future.

Krystal is the best animal cop on the police force, hiding magickal talent beneath layers of excuses and quick thinking. For five years she's tracked Peter Burke, a butcher who steals any form of canine to supplement his dietary needs. The day she saves a wolf from losing his head at the sharp end of an axe, her entire life changes. And then there is Damon, the mysterious, sexy ex-soldier with no memory of his past who awakens fantasies of dark and sensual nights.

But the GSA isn't finished with Damon, and when the shadowy government agency joins forces with Burke, Krystal too finds her life in jeopardy, the target of men and women led by their own desires. Damon and Krystal must work together to stop evil and destroy years of illegal research. But can their budding love survive when experiments distort Damon's shifting skills, creating a monster?

Welcome Teresa!!

Hi everyone!  Thanks for dropping by!  I'm so excited about the release of Lone Wolf, and I hope you are too. :)  Rather than blog about "what made me write" or "what did I do as a boring child," (seriously, I led a very boring childhood if you don't count the bowl haircut I mentioned on twitter the other day)  I thought I'd do something different.  You and I are going to write a story.  Yep, we are going to work together, you and I, creating a freebie short read to put on my website.

It's easy.  I'll do the writing, you do the plotting.  Okay, that's not true.  I'll do the writing, and then I'll give you a few plot points to choose from.  You give me your preferences and if you have more ideas for the story, hey, drop those in there too!  In this case, this story is as much yours as it is mine.  I'll be traveling from blog to blog with the story for the next 45 days (taking off time for the holidays, of course), and you are invited to come along.  I'll even make it easy for you - I'll have the schedule posted here:  http://teresadamario.com/blog/calendar-of-events/ .  Bookmark the calendar so you can check each week to see where we'll be heading next!  The more you follow, the more I'll be giving away prizes!

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to our hero.  His name is Ted Noble, and he is Krystal Maxey's partner on the police force.  Krystal, as you can guess, hasn't returned to work yet after Lone Wolf.  She's on her honeymoon.

Ted Noble sorted through the papers on his desk.  The file on the Jasper case had disappeared.  It was here earlier today.  He lifted his keyboard and checked under it.  Nothing.  Damn it.  He shoved the file folders to the center of the ancient, gun metal gray desk and sank back into his chair, his hand scrubbing his tired face.  He hated desk work.  Since his partner, Krystal Maxey, had run off to get married, he'd been left pulling desk duty at the police station.

He stared at the photos on his wall.  Pictures of animals he and Krystal had saved over the years, working together on cases nobody else in the department wanted.  There were so many it was starting to look like a collage.  What once were filthy, skinny bundles of fur and bone were now happy and healthy pets.  He was proud of their work together, and damn it, he missed his partner.

"Hey, Noble, come out here. You gotta see this."

He jerked his head up to meet the gaze of Patrol Officer Jensen.  The kid's white blond hair accentuated the pale, freckled skin of his face.  Freckles lit up with a wide smile.  "Carson told me you'd want to come see."

Ted bit back a groan.  Carson was forever having him check out single women when they came into the station to file reports.  Being resigned to desk duty made it impossible for him to escape.  Ted stood, not hiding the snarl of disgust on his face.  He may as well get this over with.

"Who is she?"

The boy shrugged, leading the way.  They made these kids younger every day.  "Got me.  I'm just coming to get you, like Carson says.  He says you were supposed to be manning the front desk anyway."

"Shit," grumbled Ted.  He'd forgotten.  Just like he'd forgotten yesterday when he was supposed to be there too.  He hated the front desk even more than he hated the paperwork piling up in his own office.

He stepped into the front office.  The scent of wild flowers seeped through the room.  He cocked his head, enjoying the sweet fragrance.

A woman stood on the other side of the high counter at the other end of the room, her finger tapping on the surface, giving way to her impatience.  Long sweeps of multi shaded brown hair draped down past her shoulders.  It was thick.  Thick enough to give a man something to hold on to.  He gave himself a mental shake.  Don't even go there.  Because once that line was crossed, Carson would never let him live it down.

Then, as though sensing his presence, she faced him. The most incredible green eyes bore into his, stealing his breath.  The sounds of the computer keyboards and ringing phones faded into the distance as he stared into those gorgeous orbs.  Emotions flitted behind them.  Most he couldn't catch.  She was too fast.  But one stood out.  Anger.

"Look, I've been waiting for almost twenty minutes.  When is someone going to take my complaint?"

Her voice was throaty and rich, with a soft musical tone that played on his senses, rolling down his spine.

So, here's your questions:

  1. What is our beautiful heroine's name?  She's gotta have one.  I'll give you a hint:  She's part wolf.
  2. Does our hero:
    1. step forward and take charge, taking her complaint himself?
    2. or does he wait for Carson to finish with her complaint, then meets her outside?
    3. or, does he take charge and hurry her back to his office so they can get better acquainted?
  3. Does our heroine like the hero on sight? Yes? No?

Now for prizes:

  • Grand Prize: A $50 gift card at the online bookstore of your choice.
  • Unadvertised prizes will be given on random days. You won’t know when, but I’ll choose them and post on the blog in question once you have won!

There are two ways to enter:

  1. Leave a response on each blog I'm visiting - one entry for every blog you comment on during my blog tour. Multiple comments a day do not get you additional entries.
  2. Email me at desertpetiri@aol.com with a copy of the receipt for the purchase of any Teresa D'Amario book, so long as it was purchased after 15 December. Older receipts do not count, though I'd love to know you've read one of the books – Five entries for every receipt.

So follow along, ladies and gentlemen, to help me write a short story, and to enter for the prizes!

Again, the entire blog schedule is found on my blog in the calendar, which will include links to each blog participating!

The next stop on the blog tour is with Nadia Lee on Saturday, so don't miss it!

Name: Keia

Noble takes the complaint himselve, being that he was supposed to be manning the front desk himself and no one has yet helped her.

She likes his looks, no doubt, but there is something about the man she is not sure about.

Teresa D'Amario you are next on my TBR pile, I swears!

What is our beautiful heroine's name? Moira?
Does our hero:
step forward and take charge, taking her complaint himself? The Hero should take charge, he's an alpha right?

Does our heroine like the hero on sight? No! Make me work for the romance, I love tension!

Hey girl, Thanks for putting me in the pile. :) Let me know what you think when you get there. As for Ted... Poor guy. He's got alot of work ahead of him. But, it's a short freebie, so it can't be TOO hard, right? Or can it?
