Books Bought & Received - 9/13/09

I was good this past week, only bought two books and only one has been added to the TBR so I get two gold stars.

Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning
Book 4, Fever Series

I bought this at Amazon.com. I read Dreamfever and the first three books in the Fever series this past week or so, back to back. KMM has become one of my all-time favorite authors. I.Love.This.Series! I'm going to do a series review later this week or next.

Book Burb from Amazon.com

MacKayla Lane lies naked on the cold stone floor of a church, at the mercy of the erotic Fae master she once swore to kill. Far from home, unable to control her sexual hungers, MacKayla is now fully under the Lord Master’s spell.…In New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning’s stunning new novel, the walls between human and Fae worlds have come crashing down. And as Mac fights for survival on Dublin’s battle-scarred streets, she will embark on the darkest—and most erotically charged—adventure of her life.

He has stolen her past, but MacKayla will never allow her sister’s murderer to take her future. Yet even the uniquely gifted sidhe-seer is no match for the Lord Master, who has unleashed an insatiable sexual craving that consumes Mac’s every thought—and thrusts her into the seductive realm of two very dangerous men, both of whom she desires but dares not trust.

As the enigmatic Jericho Barrons and the sensual Fae prince V’lane vie for her body and soul, as cryptic entries from her sister’s diary mysteriously appear and the power of the Dark Book weaves its annihilating path through the city, Mac’s greatest enemy delivers a final challenge.…

It’s an invitation Mac cannot refuse, one that sends her racing home to Georgia, where an even darker threat awaits. With her parents missing and the lives of her loved ones under siege, Mac is about to come face-to-face with a soul-shattering truth—about herself and her sister, about Jericho Barrons…and about the world she thought she knew.

Matters of the Blood by Maria Lima
Book 1, Blood Lines Series

I bought this one at Walmart. I found this book through Kimberly at Darque Reviews and you know what? The back of this book has a quote from Kimberly. Way to go Kimberly!!!

"Maria Lima weaves a brilliant tale of supernatural power, revenge, and the excitement of newfound love." - Darque Reviews
Book Blurb from Barnes & Noble

Try being Keira Kelly. A member of a powerful paranormal family, Keira elected to stay among humans in the Texas Hill Country when the rest of the clan moved (lock, stock, and grimoire) to Canada. But family duty means still having to keep an eye on cousin Marty — a genetic aberration who turned out 100% human, poor guy. And recently Keira's been having violent dreams — or are they visions? — featuring Marty as the victim of a vicious murder. Something sinister seems to be brewing in little Rio Seco. Can Keira get to the bottom of it all while avoiding entanglement with her former lover, Sheriff Carlton Larson? And what does she plan to do about the irresistible and enigmatic Adam Walker? When this old friend shows up as the new owner of a local ranc and wants to get better acquainted, Keira is more than happy to be welcoming...until she suspects that Adam could be intimately connected to the dangerous doings in Rio Seco.

TJ & pattepoilue - I'd never heard of Matters of the Blood until Kimberly promo'd it on her blog. It's been out since 2007, and the third book in this series comes out October 27th.

Book Chick City - Thank!

SusiSunshine - Be prepared to want to read the other books in the series once you read Darkfever. ;)

Blodeuedd - I've tried listening to books but I'm too ADD to do it. I can't my mind from wandering away from the story I'm listen to. Since I got a Sony Reader ebooks aren't a problem for me anymore. Are you reading them on your computer? If you are I can understand your frustration.

Dottie - OMG! The cliffhangers in the Fever books are delicious!

Lea - Thanks Lea, I really did try to behave. But next week, won't be so good. *whispers* I ordered some off of Amazon this weekend. Oops!

Mishel - As soon as I'd seen the quote on the back of the book at the store, I got a big smile for Kimberly.

I finished Dreamfever and all I can say is I Really Really Really hate cliffhangers. I might go crazy if I dont know what happens to Barrons. I also heard that Karen Marie Moning has some type of health problem and we might be waiting a while on Shadowfever.

I love hearing from everyone. Tell me what your thinking.
